What Type of Porgram Does the Arts Institute Offer

The components of the Institute are as follows:

Music

Fine Arts Institute students study under master teachers and artists, receive private instruction, develop an artistic portfolio, and earn bookish credit for their individual and independent study in the arts. To build their skills and confidence, students will take a total of 27 private music lessons each year that are provided by primary musician teachers. These lessons are 30 minutes in length and provide adept didactics that supports development in power, technique and artistry.

Courses required for Institute music students include: bones music theory, AP music theory, comparative arts, and ensemble that coincides with the student'southward instrumental or vocal emphasis, such equally band, choir, or orchestra.

Faculty: Maureen Tjoflat

Students in the visual arts strand of the Fine Arts Institute accept the opportunity to larn and explore new art forms and advanced techniques that may also include a large-scale grouping projection. The Institute partners with the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Artisan Center.This is a one time per week programme where Institute artists participate during the schoolhouse year with a unique curriculum designed for Fine Arts Institute students. The yr culminates past celebrating educatee artwork with a special art showcase at the Neville Public Museum.

Courses required for Found art students include: design and mixed media, comparative arts, and students must take an art grade two of 3 trimesters.

Literary Arts

The Literary Arts Strand of the Fine Arts Institute celebrates the art of writing as a powerful tool for growth and change both within the writer and the globe. Students in the program are encouraged to write in the genres of their choosing, including fiction verse, playwriting, screenwriting, and creative nonfiction besides as in any number of sub-genres. Writers in the program design a program of study which includes completion of writing packets, reading to analyze arts and crafts and a final artistic project. Students also participate in bi-weekly writers' workshops based on the workshop format of the Iowa Writers' Workshop. Finally, the students publish their work in "The Strand," the Fine Arts Institute Literary Arts Strand mag.

Theatre Arts

Students in the theatre arts strand savour an exciting performance-based programme that offers students opportunities for acting and improvisation, being a member of the production squad, learning how to utilize performance technologies like sound and lights, sets, scenery blueprint, costumes, hair and make-up. Students develop their personal artistic process that is centered around the theatre!

Courses required for Found theatre students include: intro to theatre product, intro to acting and comparative arts.
